# Does anyone actually know anyone who has gone down with swine flu?
I don't know a soul who has
(, Tue 15 Sep 2009, 21:56, archived)
# we've had a load of 'suspected' swine flu
which i'm sure translates as 'not'

# ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME
Yesterday my temperature was 39C, none of my limbs worked and I was coughing up green stuff with blood and bits of lung in it.
The internet said I should have tamiflu but I was too ill to go and get it.

# don't bother
tamiflu will only make you feel worse, and for longer
(, Tue 15 Sep 2009, 21:59, archived)
# I know that, I am a doctor. Part of the reason I didn't crawl to the health centre myself was that the side effects are often worse than the flu.

# Hard to say
As in most people the symptoms are the same are your common or garden flu.

I had flu about 2 months ago for a week. Could have been swine flu but who knows?

You've been thinkin' again'.

# I know 2 people
but by all accounts they had nothing compared to the flu I had over new years 2000, loads of people died then. How quickly we forget.

# It seems to vary quite a lot.
I don't normally get ill. I hadn't had a sick day for the past 5 years, since my glandular fever.
Yesterday was horrific though. At one point it felt like a severe asthma attack, I could hardly breathe in or out and sounded like a sealion. Was scared for a while.
