There are plenty of low temperature alloys.
In which case a normal soldering iron would be too hot.
I have some Wood's metal which melts around 70C.

I suspect he gets someone else to do his soldering.
Also there's no way that Sotheby’s were not in on this.
With the battery, shredding mechanism, motor it would have weighed a ton.
Just a bit of faux drama and some rich fuckwit geting even richer off it.
