I still don't understand why Kubrick decided to ban his own film in Britain alone.
Perhaps after the initial violence that beset the opening of A Clockwork Orange he felt that people in Britain were too socially immature to grasp the concept of the film rather than imitating it? Interesting really because the banning made it more sought after and made it a cult film when it was really rather shit.
