This is a normal post Two things I love about this
the hoverhand 'Alright, I'm on, but I don't wanna touch it!' thing and if you watch at the end, he does one heck of a leap when he gets to the bit were the stairs get eaten!

I honestly think I can remember doing the same the first time I came across one as a kid, and they were a quite bit fucking scarier in the '70s an'all, they weren't nearly as well fitted, clacked and rumbled, and had gaps at the sides and both ends that curious little children had to be dragged away from by their Mum's, also the moving rubber hand rail NEVER matched what the stairs were doing EVER which amazed me, I mean, how hard to get right can that be when it MUST be running off'of the same motor!?

This is a normal post At the Dental School in Birmingham
they used to have - and maybe still do have* - a paternoster lift. I was dying to stay in it for a whole circuit, just because I could; sadly, I was with someone much more mature on the one occasion I was there.

*Ah. It appears to have gone now.

This is a normal post The thought of paternosters make me feel uneasy for a reason I can't quite pin down.
My favourite anecdote/potential urban myth concerns the one previously at Leeds University.
On applicant tours, they would take the group past and explain that they need to be careful if they ever go over the top in it. To demonstrate, the tour guide hops in only to emerge on the opposite side doing a handstand.

This is a normal post not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator
