No-one's going to miss looking outside are they? It's boring

This is a normal post Apparently
aeroplane manufacturers are looking at that kind of thing (and/ or LED screens showing what's going on outside) to replace actual windows. So... yeah.

This is a normal post To be fair, I think that'd be quite cool.
It'd be fun to be able to look out of one "window" of my house in Manchester to see the Amazon, and to look out of another in the same room to see Red Square.

This is a normal post 787 Dreamliners are already using
privacy glass type tech where passengers can adjust the amount of light coming through. Annoying when the crew override it and prevent looking out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooXQUCrGuOU

Imagine the ad's!

This is a normal post Yeah: I was on a 787 a few months ago that had that.
Unfortunately, I had an aisle seat, and it seemed a bit rude to lean over the other two people to play with the button.

To make matters worse, the person by the window wanted a different amount of shading from my preferred level. It was intolerable.

This is a normal post Can you get a window that simulates a storm with trampolines rolling down a street?

This is a normal post that's cool
I made something similar for my wife's office when we used to live in a basement flat. I used florescent daylight bulbs and a defuser.

The fake window would be very useful on submarines and spacecraft

This is a normal post this isn't new tech, been around for a while.
Fritzl would've gotten away with it if he'd had a couple of these.

Edit: all they need to do is make synthesised vit D3 into a vapour and pump it out whenever something gets close to the window frame
