Tricky at T In The Park
Everyone was expecting slinky weed-smoking mellow splifftastic tunes. What they got was him rasping nonsensically over some guitarist playing never-ending moronic punky-metal riffs. Crushing disappointment.

Ooh yeah, I'd forgotten about that
I saw Tricky at Glastonbury once and he truly was the worst performer I think I've ever seen. He had a pretty decent backing band but they'd either not rehearsed or - and this seems the more likely option - he was totally off his tits on massive drugs and was improvising to a soundtrack in his head that only he could hear. At the end of one "song" during which he repeated the phrase "I put a dress on" ad nauseum, the drummer stopped playing but the bass and keyboards carried on, obviously unsure if he had finished. So the drummer had to kick back in four bars later, at which point the bass player stopped playing. It probably took 32 bars for the entire band to stutter to a halt, and he still got a round of applause from a legion of halfwitted Tricky fans.

Still, at least it wasn't Finlay Quaye.
