I know. I understand.I just hate the word gooey in this context. It just sounds wrong. I thought this was a question about phrases that get on your nerves? This is one of them for me!! It sounds like some horrible Americanisation! On the whole, abbreviations become words if they sound good. Gooey, IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, doesn't sound good and makes me cringe when I hear it!!!! It is also a bit of a dodgy phrase as the GUI is not just graphical, where I work, it must be built so that screen readers for the blind can read the text, therefore GUI is only half of it, it's a UI, part of whioh is graphical!!!
