A plot to ruin ITV1
I don't really think it's true but, any time I see something they do,

Having This Morning on 7 days a week,
Paying over the odds for average presenters,
Loads of pretty ordinary reality shows,

I'm sure you get the idea.

We did that.
Of course i'm using 'we' as a collective for the nation.

As a commercial organisation itv just want more viewers. More viewers = more advertising revenue.

It's therefore pretty simple that the shit they broadcast is by popular demand. The more 'we' watch it, the more they'll show.

I have to say that, apart from the occasional Champions League game I don't watch ITV at all.
It's shit.

The occasionally show some decent fillums on ITV4
But they stuff in so many adbreaks, bookended by those fist-itching 118-118 ads, I have to pause the live telly for half 20 minutes in every hour just to be able to fast forward through them.

there's one!
Sky plus must have been invented by media freedom fighters so we could escape the tyranny of surplus ads and sponsor bumpers!

Less of a plot - more of a business model. If there's one thing that's consistently cleared me out of the house, lo, these last few decades it's been the term 'new ITV comedy'.
