I drive a modern German diesel car
Long run = 64.8 miles/gallon*
General driving = 49.2 miles/gallon

'Merkins have, up to now, never had an incentive to make their engines economical. Maybe now they'll learn!

* that's real Imperial gallons not these namby pamby colonial ones.

It's all economical
until your super-dooper variable vane turbo clogs up after 100,000 miles and suddenly have to shell out a grand on a replacement.
