This is a question B3TA fixes the world

Moon Monkey says: Turn into Jeremy Clarkson for a moment, and tell us about the things that are so obviously wrong with the world, and how they should be fixed. Extra points for ludicrous over-simplification, blatant mis-representation, and humourous knob-gags.

Stick frieght on the rail network
Stick everything back on the rail or canal networks then I won't get stuck behind two lorries racing each other at exactly 49.99 mph and another doing 49.991 mph for the entire length of the A14.

And give a life time ban to all that those who sit in the middle or outside lane and are totally incapable of changing lanes only speed, when there is nothing else in sight on the motorway.

I think we should rename the outside lane to the more accurate 'German Lane'

this exact complete total thing down to the very last fine detail.
And then the bend in the A14 goes in the other direction so the curvature and relative distances means the one that was edging ahead all of a sudden is falling level again so you'll never win...

Great idea!
Except the rail network is at capacity, and the canal network is also at capacity with pleasure craft. I prefer 'build more of everything!'

Building things is so awfully 1970s.
It's much better to inflate the cost of car ownership and maintenance so that most of the plebs can't legally run them any more.

Fit DRS on lorries
Then they'll be able to pass each other quicker.

Or you could try living somewhere where you don't need to traverse the 160 miles of flat fields and traffic jams that is the A14.

I wrote in to 'Genius' with my idea
It was to make the limiters on HGVs ALL THE SAME, so that they can't over-take each other AT ALL on A roads or motorways. This would make the roads much safer and quicker for all other road users with no down side.

My ideas
Step 1: (Rush Hour - 6am till 9am & 4pm till 6pm) - Lorries/trucks must stay in the inside lane.

Step 2: (Any-time) Anything over 3.5mt inside/1st overtaking lane only along with trucks.

Step 3: (Any-time) Minimum speed limit of 60mph (roadworks/weather/lorry exclusions excepted of course)

Step 4: (Any-time) Not doing 70? - get out of the outside lane!

Step 5: (Any-time) Learner drivers must display 'M'? Plates and only be allowed in the first 2 lanes until they pass a motorway test of some description.

Still thinking of more but it's a start!
