This is a question Lies that went on too long

When you lie you often have to keep lying. Share your pain. When I was 15 I pretended to be 16 to help get a summer job. Then had to spend a summer with this nice shopkeeper asking me everyday if I was excited about getting my GCSE results. I felt like an utter shit. Thanks to MerseyMal for the suggestion.

"Yes I'm ready and responsible enough to be a parent"
Do you ever feel competent when you've got kids, or is everyone just making it up as they go along?

In the words of Calvin's dad...
I wouldn't have been in such a rush to reach adulthood if I'd known the whole thing was going to be ad-libbed.

"I said we should get a puppy, but oooooooh no ... "

Me an' all
I asked LittleScars on her 16th birthday if she thought we'd been OK as parents so far, and she came out with this:

"I suppose you wouldn't know you'd done the right thing until your grandchildren grew up normal"

Pause.

"But you'd be dead by then so you shouldn't worry"

By George, I think we might have done it.

Daughter is 11 months and I always feel that an real adult is about to come in and take responsibility
I mean, don't they know who I am? How can they let ME have a child? etc. And yet every day is fucking brilliant.

Did someone ask you this,
before you made a baby together? I imagine the population would be a lot smaller, if having children was a rational decision.

No, just went it fullsteam ahead.
Seemed like a good idea. (Still seems like a good idea, but sometimes you wake up at 3am and realise you've got a shedload of responsibility that there ain't no getting out of, despite all the internets and beer and whatnot).

Soooooo.
You think your parents felt fully competent and knew exactly what they were doing?

Far too many people complain about how hard parenthood is.
I was always told 'never have kids till you're at least thirty...because they bog you down so much...and life's forever stressful.' Them bitches be crazy fools...Its fucking well good fun. Watching her bolt around the living room on hands and kness going herp derp herp derp, cackling when I hold her upside down and pat her on the bum and say 'I WANT KETCHUP ON MY CHIPS' clambering over me in the mornings and blowing raspberries and washing those lovely little trotters...what joy!

Clearly
this and all the replies are either lies or delusional.

Nobody on the internets has ever had any sex ever.
