Do you really expect me to broadcast my income on here?
I am a cunt, but not a stupid cunt.

'A lot'
don't you know what an appalling lack of manners it demonstrates to ask someone outright how much they earn?
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:24, Reply)
yes.

I bet you're saying goodbye to your Child benefit.

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:26, Reply)
Funny name for a child.

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:26, Reply)
Never claimed it.

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:27, Reply)
Doesn't it automatically get paid to Mrs Battered?

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:30, Reply)
I think you have to claim it.

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:31, Reply)
You do, yeah.
It's not an automatic benefit, you still have to fill in a form and provide proof of birth.
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:34, Reply)
Not sure. I think that's only if she has submitted the forms for it, which I would have had to sign and I never have.

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:31, Reply)
My mistake - you do need to claim
She shouldn't need your signature though. Or is that a personal arrangement?
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:34, Reply)
I think it is because we are married and benefits are based on total household income.

(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:35, Reply)
Child benefit isn't.
It is a universal benefit.
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:37, Reply)
Ah. I didn't know this. Not entitled to it anyway I think.
As the BBC website budget report says "The salary threshold at which child benefit stops being paid will be set at £50,000"
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:38, Reply)
It's stopped fully at £60k,
1% reduction per £100 over £50k
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:41, Reply)
indeed.
Quite right too.
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:42, Reply)
I thought they'd changed it
so that you don't get it if one parent earned over £40k?
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:46, Reply)
That was just the rumour
confirmation is it's £50k-£60k
(, Wed 21 Mar 2012, 13:49, Reply)
maybe you should
Seeing as how you suffer so much from paying tax on the entirety of your six figure salary, amirite?
