we don't really have a side as such - probably lean towards independents since we're a bit maverick. Stint in the alliance millitary would mean we had some potential inside information on how they work. When you booked were you from a core, border or whatever the other one is planet? I went border, but mostly for the points balance

Border.
Grew up on a religious cult world escaped pretty young and spent the next couple of decades drifting and surviving, so service with one army or another and some merc stuff would fit. It wouldn't involve any loyalties, just picking the stronger side.
