Do you still get child-like excitement to new products coming out?
I'm a bit of a slave to commercialism, I'm an advertiser's dream; and by extention I'm Apple's dream customer.
In the month or so run-up to a new apple announcement, or a Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft (gaming) hardware release, I count down the days to them and days drag out until suddenly they're out and its like the last month went in a flash.
New iphone is less than a month away for announcement, and a couple of weeks on top for release. iPad mini might be about that sort of time too, which if it is what I think it is, I'd sale my ipad I got last month for it and pocket the change... using my boss's 7" tablet, I think I preffer the size of a good seven incher when it comes to being on the train.
Microsoft Surface looks fucking wicked too, new windows is coming out in a couple of months, they' ve totally changed it around - most of it is barely recongisable from Win Vista. Microsoft have started sending out dev units to the next Xbox.
I wanna get a 3D telly this year too.

Not really arsed about new shit, my mobile's out of the ark.,
I still use XP, not a fan of anything newer, as I know XP pretty much backwards.
Lunch is omelette, chips, salad, folloews by an apple and a Mars Bar. Rock 'n' roll lifestyle wtf?
Light painting is fun, I use torches with coloured gels.

I prefer to let the early adopters take the price hit
then pick things up cheaper later with at least some of their problems sorted out.

It's difficult to know who to hate.
At least the dark-skinned ones were easily identified.

I'd be fucking insulted at that.
1) It's less than an hour's wages.
2) It's going to cost you more money to 'use' the gift than value of the gift itself.
3) Indian food is known for having people who don't like it, so it's quite inconsiderate to pick that style of meal. There are other cuiseens that 'everyone' can enjoy.
4) The only acceptable usage of family contacts is if it mean the meal/drinks is entirely on the boss's card.
I'd have put in for overtime and expenses if they tried that with me.

I'm one of the late adopter people. I wait until some new gadget has come down in price and there's been a bunch of patches/hardware refinements.

I never watch television or pay much attention to adverts.
However when it comes to new records I am easily persuaded.
I often fall for the hype for an "essential purchase"
But when it comes to new products, I am always one of the last to adopt a new technology.

Been meaning to purchase a new laptop for about 2 years, can't get motivated until this one actually dies.
As long as I can use excel on it for worky stuff, and word for printing menus and writing signs like "someone shat on the floor, please bear with us while the new guy finds some sturdy gloves" then meh.
Consoles on the other hand, I can get excited about.
Lunch is a ham sammidge nommynommynomnoms.
