I've got a nice pack coming down this afternoon.
But I think I'll try to find a St Peters Ale pack or two and do them for christmas.

I like St Peters' beers.
Do the kits turn out much like the real thing?

Apparently they're very good,
but they're also some of the most expensive around. £25ish for 40 pints.

A guy I know has taken it on to the next step
Proper equipment, separate ingredients, pick different hops to add, etc.
It ceases to become a cheap way of producing beer if you get obsessed with it as he has.

Well per batch doing it from ingredients is dirt cheap.
But the equipment is £200-£500 so you need to make a lot of batches to get the money back.

I don't think he will be satisfied until he has given up his job and set up his own brewery.
