I thought Independence Day was an excellent film.
Although why you Americans need to celebrate it so much is beyond me.

I work with a Merkin
and she was bemoaning the fact that nothing happens over here on Independence day. The fact that it doesn't apply to us appeared to have slipped her notice.

Her main reason for grumpiness was that there are no fireworks as where she's from in NY there's always tons of fireworks and usually a bonfire somewhere to toast marshmallows and stuff on and we have nothing like that here.

I gently reminded her of Bonfire night and she's happy again now :)
