Hello!
Let's set up a new home for evening - the last place of abode is rather crammed.

Home Sweet Home
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:41, 115 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Is there anybody out there?
oooOOOoooOOO etc.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:41, Reply)
I am!
I've never really been away today.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:46, Reply)
I'm alive!
Hey ladies *hugs all round*

I feel much better - beer in hand and a lovely lasagne in the oven.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:47, Reply)
Sometimes one can get worried about that
but it passes, thank heavens.
Are you at home, or still at work?

Edit: Hello BK - mmm, lasagne!
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:48, Reply)
*hugs BK and clendrix*
Yay for company :) I am currently in the early stages of setting up some kind of localish minibash.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:49, Reply)
Yup
Should get the *flex* back in my step.

*edit*@ Maladicta.

Ooh, where would this be?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:49, Reply)
Well, I'm based in Canterbury
and there's a surprising number of us around here - there are pubs with real ale and stuff, it would be cosy :)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:52, Reply)
The good thing for me
Is that Leeds is pretty central so it doesn't really take too long to get most places.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:54, Reply)
^ I nearly went to uni in Leeds
but we got egged on our campus tour. That was a bit offputting.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 19:57, Reply)
*hides eggs*
What?

Big studenty place - I think Leeds Uni and Leeds Met had about 70,000 between them.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:02, Reply)
I nearly went to Leeds too!
I didn't, but not for any egg-related reason.

Canterbury - bit too far for me for an evening jaunt. I love that place though.

I love Leeds, too.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:05, Reply)
Eh, it wasn't that that put me off going completely,
I went to Exeter the next week and preferred that, but I didn't get in in the end so I ended up here :)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:06, Reply)
Hello ladies, gent
What ho, old beans?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:08, Reply)
What ho?
Which ho?

Hello
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:09, Reply)
The Tally Ho
of course.

Not many of us around yet this evening, are there?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:11, Reply)
Helloooooo!
I have had pizza and chips and feel like a new women.

Anyone know where I can get one?

@BK - you in Leeds eh! I am quite close and could be your stalker if you wish it.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:12, Reply)
Seems like people are wandering in.
Hello BGB!

Mmm...chips.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:14, Reply)
A new woman, BGB?
Let me know if you find a supply!

Actually, I found a supply (numbering one) last night, but it turns out she lives a long way away. So that's no good.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:17, Reply)
Chips are a panacea for all ills.
They can certainly bring a smile to my face.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:17, Reply)
I currently have pasta on the go
So I shall be here for about 3 more minutes then I'll be back later.

I've just cooked lovely roasted veg and creme fraiche sauce - all homemade (leftovers from the roasted veg the other day). Gordon Brown would love me.

But I won't let him.

Pasta's cooked!
Catch you all later.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:18, Reply)
Oops
Only disappeared for a few minutes, in which time K2k6 has loved and lost and chickenlady has been and gone.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:25, Reply)
I'll just pretend I'm having an early night....
Then everyone will show up : )
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:26, Reply)
@BGB
Does anyone ever ask for a stalker? :P
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:28, Reply)
@BK
Only if they're sick and twisted.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:29, Reply)
Ha!
If BK turns down BGB's offer to stalk him, he will appear rude.

If he accepts it, he is sick and twisted.

*waits with bated breath*
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:32, Reply)
@clendrix
You've got to keep your finger on the pulse round here, y'know!

Can't go disappearing and missing stuff...
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:38, Reply)
You're right!
*throws away last vestiges of life*
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:39, Reply)
I don't mind if BK turns me down to stalk him.
He wouldn't be the first ; )

Edit - Todmorden or as someone once called it - Tadmorbid.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:40, Reply)
Oh, what a quandary!
Where you based BGB?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:40, Reply)
Woo!
West Yorkshire FTW!
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:43, Reply)
Surely, by the nature of stalking
being turned down does not prevent you from actually doing it?

In fact, I suspect it would be more fun that way.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:44, Reply)
Yes K2K6...
But it's only polite to ask first.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:46, Reply)
BGB
Oi, he's mine. I like the way he says Murrrrderrrrr ,)

Edit: Ning all, how are we?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:48, Reply)
Oh BGB's so nice!
I think you should go for it, BK.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:48, Reply)
'lo Becky
You mean as in Taggart's "there's been a murder" sort of murrrrderrr?

I can do that too. But I try not to, because it makes me sound like MacWomble.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:53, Reply)
Wotcha Becky!
K2k6, if you sound like MacWomble, I certainly hope you say it if we ever meet.

But not do it. Not to me, anyway.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:58, Reply)
Ah becky, my hero!
I was surrounded there, did you see it?

*leaps into becky's arms*
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:00, Reply)
*strokes BK's hair*
It's ok, Becky's here.

*spoonfeeds lasagne*

Ning Ancrenne, just got an update about your new glitzy site, off to have a look now :)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:03, Reply)
Hi Becky.
Come and save BK from the big bad blouse.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:03, Reply)
It appears
that BK has already been saved. And indeed is being well looked after!

And don't worry, clendrix. I'm not the murdering type. Too messy.

Not that I'd ever want to bump off a b3tard, but if I found the need to remove someone from existence, I could subcontract the job to someone with, oh, I don't know, maybe a lot of knives, say...

Except he's apparently too nice to kill people too.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:07, Reply)
I just laughed out loud at that BGB
Ooh Ancrenne, it's very pretty looking. Going to forward the address to some forums I use that are into eco/women's rights/recycling stuff, so as soon as you're up and running you're bound to have loyal customers :)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:08, Reply)
Mmm, more lasagne please!
Looks around from becky's arms

*sucks thumb*

*retreats back to sanctuary*
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:09, Reply)
Ned alert
It appears we have some noise on the offtopic board. Go and have a look. Mr Badger and Mr Friz are talking shite out there.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:11, Reply)
*checks Kaol's profile*
Oh, yes, so he does.

You appear to still be alive ancrenne, so I think he's bluffing. Unless of course he's taken over your persona...

And I'm sure you frowned earlier.

*imagines*

*worries*
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:14, Reply)
Never
pour half a bottle of hot pepper sauce in to a bowl of soup.

I'm sitting here with my mouth open and my tongue hanging out.

It hurts.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:15, Reply)
I'm currently listening to
the Lunatic Artist and a friend of hers during one evening when they started playing with a multitrack recorder. She recorded about three vocal tracks, he added drums, bass, guitar and brass, and it gives me goosebumps to listen to.

That is all.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:15, Reply)
Hello Loon!
K2k6 - the /talkers are funny, except that I can't seem them all, which makes it even funnier.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:19, Reply)
I is off to make some food :)
see you later
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:19, Reply)
Anc
yes, another tip would be don't get very drunk and 'elevated' and decide to go to the local kebab van... and order two whole onions chopped up. Then don't eat them.

I've done that, once. It was about 4 days until I could close my mouth.

How are we all this evening?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:20, Reply)
Presumably you have some of them on Ignore, clendrix?
It's not worth changing that!

@ancrenne. I believe you, but just to make sure...

*looks down ancrenne's top*

Yup. It's you all right. No knives secreted in the cleavage.

Edit: Hello Zap, Loon.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:27, Reply)
I've ignored some
which I'm sure they're terribly upset about.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:34, Reply)
My new iPod Touch
is on shuffle. I just had Frank Zappa followed by Pink Floyd followed by Sass Jordan.

I'm starting to get whiplash.

EDIT: and now it's kicked up Nirvana. I think I'm gonna stick with that for a bit.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:36, Reply)
I checked your back pockets, ancrenne
And didn't feel anything except bum.

If it's not you though, then Kaol has larger breasts than I'd previously thought.

Edit: a watched dinner never cooks. But if you turn your back for three seconds it'll be burned to a crisp.

@TRL
I'm looking to get some more Zappa, only got the Best of (some shitty compliation) and the album with Willie the Pimp on... any recommendations?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:48, Reply)
I'm watching Buzzcocks
and trying to work through the pain of Phil Jupitus, because without him, it's quite funny.

Can I add him to my 'ignore list'
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:49, Reply)
I am listening to the sound of the birds outside my window.
They're the first things I hear in the morning and the last things I like to listen to at night.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:53, Reply)
@Clendrix
I always thought that Phil Jupitus' best role, one that he really brought his acting and comedy skills to, was when he played a bin man at the end of Mike Bassett: England Manager.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:56, Reply)
@zapiola
Hot Rats and Absolutely Free are probably my faves, although they're all good. The man was a twisted lyrical genius.

edit: It seems like you already have Hot Rats (it has Willie the pimp on it)

Get Absolutely Free -- it's a good example of the lyrical side of his music, which I personally prefer.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:57, Reply)
The birds
outside my bedroom window (they nest in the gutter) have a massive squawking fight every morning at stupid o'clock, and then proceed to do it again at sundown. Noisy little buggers, but its lovely to have that noise instead of incessant traffic.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:57, Reply)
Zap
Forgot about that! I liked that film.

I'm not a high class bird.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:59, Reply)
Zappa
What's on the iPod is from Weasels Ripped My Flesh, but I prefer Apostrophe/Overnight Sensation- it's far more coherent and funny.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 21:59, Reply)
@TRL & Chart Cat
Cheers, I shall have to check those ones out.

Currently listening to Captain Beefheart

Hey ancrenne
Gave your website a proper visit this evening. Tis fluffeh!
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:06, Reply)
Nice one.
I really like the layout and colour scheme.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:09, Reply)
I'm now slightly worried
that you've picked up some Kaol traits, ancrenne!

You aren't wearing a spear through your hair tonight or anything, are you?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:12, Reply)
Good
The chicken thingy is not a spear or a knife, so that's OK.

Right then. I was out last night, and it's getting near bedtime. I'm off to scrub my molars.

Night all.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:19, Reply)
Where does time go?
I was going to put a pizza on an hour ago, but then the phone rang and I've only just put it in to cook now.

*has hungrys*
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:25, Reply)
I think I might be sensible
and go to bed.

Ancrenne - I'll probably book that train I mentioned tomorrow, ok?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:30, Reply)
Meh
anyone left around?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:38, Reply)
I am Mr Z
I'm watching the 7/7 documentary and it's harrowing viewing. I was on the Picadilly line going through kings cross one year later on my way to start new job at Lush and the silence was eerie.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:40, Reply)
Hmm
I am flicking through a book about the Spanish Conquest of Peru and trying to decide what movie to watch...

Although how the book is supposed to help I dunno
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:42, Reply)
Its
crazy how time lurches by.

Meh. Im surrounded by half packed boxes...

And I'm hungry.

Meh.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:49, Reply)
Stop procrastinating
and go eat Mr Z
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:53, Reply)
All
I have left is one piece of bread and some tuna.

I want chips.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:57, Reply)
Mmm...
Delicious cardboard, got to be some nutrients in there :)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 22:58, Reply)
Yeah
but it closed an hour and a half ago.

OH! I have rice and pasta.... and a cucumber.

I could make cucumber and pasta?
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:00, Reply)
Evenin'
If you want to taste cardboard, eat an American KitKat.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:04, Reply)
Hmm
Chips sound better.

Right. I am going to make pasta. Pasta and brown sauce with oregano.

Isn't being a student great?

.
Alright A

Still haven't heard if the company that was interested in my CV can do an interview on the dates I suggested, so my plans are still up in the air.

On the plus side, I got a fair ammount of work done today. I've been so carried away I almost forgot to stop by here.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:15, Reply)
Evening Spakka
I'd call them to be honest just to say you've got some interviews lined up and wanted to see if they had a date in mind for you.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:16, Reply)
@beckx
I don't want to appear to be too pushy, but on the other hand, I want to get something sorted out.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:23, Reply)
Waiting this long isn't being pushy
it's showing an interest in their company
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:25, Reply)
@ancrenne
Just looked at your prettied up website. It's prettier.

EDIT: @beckx: I'll probably try that during the week. I've already sent them an e-mail with my preferred dates.

but I'm also leaving....

Ah good
I've got Zapiola and his pastas to keep me company.

BTW: Have you tried Pasta with Arrabbiata sauce?

Edit: evenin' and g'night Vipros.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:39, Reply)
Arabbiata
is very good.

Unfortunately I don't have any.

Fortunately I have tandoori paste... which seems to be an increasing part of my cooking recently as until I get paid I am too skint to buy anything else. Or too tight. I'm not sure which.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:41, Reply)
.
Tightness comes from being used to being skint.

Anyway, I liked the stories you posted over the weekend. Especially the 'nice' one.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:54, Reply)
Cheers
The nice one took some effort...

the other ones were more fun...
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 23:55, Reply)
I liked the others too
but the nice one was the best of the erotica ones I've read so far. The others were silly or surreal which I liked.

I posted some erotica I wrote several years ago on Sunday, but am thinking of writing some more. Don't seem to have much inspiration for a story related to this week's QOTW though.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 0:07, Reply)
I thank you
It took some effort.

The other ones were more fun.
