Morning beckster
And HBTY, Boss.

Am I wishing a happy proper birthday or happy b3taday here?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:39, Reply)
It's an actual real life proper birthday K2k6
s'abit quiet this morning
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:45, Reply)
Ditto!
I think it's his real birthday K2K6 - hence the party last weekend.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:45, Reply)
Thank you all!
I still feel like shit.
I think I've bollixed my liver.

*hugs everyone*
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:47, Reply)
Ah yes
I remember he mentioned he was still feeling a bit ill yesterday.

Edit - and today, it seems. Hi BK.

I've stopped celebrating my birthdays.

My computer just randomly decided to do a backup there. I have it set so that it usually does it at lunchtime when I'm down town or swimming, not at quarter to nine in the morning.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:49, Reply)
Mine does that
with virus scans, they're supposed to happen every evening, but sometimes they just start at 3am for no reason.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:50, Reply)
I'm off for a shower
then heading to work. Looks like rain here :(
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:53, Reply)
Good morning everyone!
Shall I get the birthday cake out then?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:55, Reply)
@becky
By that last comment, are you implying that you're saving money by taking your shower gel outside?

Edit@Wanderlust - yup, sounds good to me. HLT doesn't usually appear until 10-ish with her cakes!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:55, Reply)
morning folks
how we all?

*tireds*
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 8:57, Reply)
I'll just go put the kettle on
Tea anyone?
Milk and sugar are on the table so help yourselves.

I just wandered outside
to the O/T board and I see that Bert's been posting pictures of his cock.

Madam Marlboro may or may not find this funny...
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:06, Reply)
I did look at bert's cock this morning.
But I have a strong stomach so it's ok for me. Others with a weaker disposition should wait till later on in the day maybe.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:12, Reply)
I didn't know if I should laugh or cry
Does Bert's cock often makes girls feel like that?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:23, Reply)

was a right bastard getting into work this morning cos the Yorkshire show has started. You know how it is, ferret-down-trousers display team, the Geoffrey Boycott singers. I think Alan Bennett's doing some stunt riding.

Morning Kaol
@BK - do they have black pudding eating contests, and flat cap frisbee events?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:35, Reply)
@K
Heh. All of these.
Plus a Hovis speed-eating contest.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:39, Reply)

Happy Birthday, you lovely man

Aw *kisses back*
I didn't sleep that great.
Still felt a bit ropey, and a certain lovely lady called me at 1 minute past midnight to wish me happy birthday.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:47, Reply)
@BK
Was it Honeysuckle Weeks? She's a lovely lady.

...and happy birthday to yooooooooo!

Must have been some party you had if you're still feeling like shit.

Cheers Mr. Spakka
I don't what's wrong.
I think I may have really badly screwed my liver.
Or I did some risky cooking with some mince I'd left out the fridge overnight, I think I would know about it if it was food poisoning though!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:54, Reply)
Morning all
Happy birthday Burger King Boss.

So how are we all this morning?

MM still holding you hostage I see, Bert?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:54, Reply)
@PoD
She'll give in eventually, how can she resist now that I've posted GIGANTACOCK?
It's the principle of the thing really.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9:56, Reply)
I feel you may have made slight oversights
Since I'm not really sure the picture will make her give it back.

Now if you photoshopped a pic of her doing other things with gigantacock...
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:00, Reply)
Like...
the two of them making puff pastry perhaps?

Or finger painting?

Or flagellating Keith chegwin?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:02, Reply)
I wonder
how MM will get her revenge.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:05, Reply)
I think
Either options 1 or 3. How could she stand against something like that?

Where has everyone else gone this morning?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:06, Reply)
Picture photoshoppery you say?
*considers raiding Flickr pool*
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:08, Reply)
I was wondering
How long it would be until someone would start on the Flickr pool.

There's some good suitable photos of Bert on there...
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:10, Reply)
Well...
I could update the Goat-Loving picture.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:10, Reply)
Feel free,
I removed my profile pic so that MM wouldn't be able to get her revenge properly, but I wouldn't mind seeing what you could do with the Flikr photos!

EDIT and I used to Paint to create those pictures, it wasn't fun.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:12, Reply)
@Kaol
How about that photo where he appears to be doing things to a pint glass with MM?

@Bert

I removed my photo incase you or Kaol ever had the urge to mess with it. The thought of it made me worry.

I think that there needs to be
Some 'shoppery done tonight.

How are you all today?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:20, Reply)

As it should be on private, but part of me is still worried.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:21, Reply)
Awwwww!
Come on, Penguin, join in the fun.

It's not like we could google for pictures of your mum, and then shop the pair of you so it looks like you're giving her a blowjob or anything.

...or could we?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:21, Reply)
To be honest
I was expecting some sort of retribution from DiT after I freaked him out and found out loads of stuff about him.

Morning Doktor
Sorry I didn't reply to your animals post yesterday, t'was very busy indeed.

They all sounded cool!
I used to breed African Mantids, Hissing Cockroaches and Giant Land Snails.
I've had Imperial scorpions, various other mantids, millipedes and centipedes.
I've kept lizards for lots of years, and terrapins.

I'm a bit low on pets at the moment, got a Leopard Gecko and a Horsefield Tortoise.
Looking at getting some Axylotls again.

@ancrenne: I spent most of yesterday getting work done so it means I'm not quite feeling myself.

@wanderlust: I'll supply the cream.

@kaol: Have you tried breeding these?
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:39, Reply)
@Haol re pets
Np. I'm just looking at cockroaches atm. I had a look at my post yesterday and realised that I'd missed of the 2 brearded dragons, the bosc monitor, the 3 yellow Australian monitors, the several Leopard geckos, and 2 cats!

Axylotls are great, I had some years ago but I've never had a Tortoise or ant Terapins.

Edit Morning Ancrenne an DiT.

(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:45, Reply)
Tip of the Day
When about to fall, ensure that you fall on to something soft like a bed or a crashmat. This way, falling can become an enjoyable experience. If falling from a great height, i.e. from plane or mountain, deploy parachute as soon as is feasible to facilitate a slow and sure descent to earth. If no parachute is available, use your legs and arms as rudders to aim for the nearest haystack or toilet roll factory to maximise chances of survival.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:45, Reply)
@spakka
I'll just put my sticky buns on the table over here. Did you want to cover them in cream now? Or shall I let everyone pour their own?

@ancrenne *snogs back* you lovely lady, you.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:46, Reply)
@DiT
You forgot:

When falling from a tall building in view of television or film cameras, ensure you aim for a large pile of empty cardboard boxes.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 10:46, Reply)
.
@DIT: Next time I go out drinking, I'll remember to carry a bed, crashmat, parachute, haystack and toilet-roll.

@ancrenne: Last time I hurtled to the floor at great speed when drunk, I remember being somewhat bemused that the pavement was getting bigger. I was wondering if I would get to see the pavement-cracks in microscopic detail but then, an ouch happened.

* tries to duck the drill but falls over *

EDIT: @wanderlust: There's already a great pile of cream around so I'll cover them now.

Stuff
@Kaol
Yup I'm always learning things me. For a hatchling a 12"x12"x12" should be ok, but as it grows you'll need to replace it, I would start with one big enough for an adult roughly 30"x24"x15".

@Bert
Maybe if we marinade him for a very long time he would taste better.

@Clendrix
All these here young people, it makes me cry sometimes wishing I was that age again.

No, I reckon we're fine. I'd like to have achieved a bit more, but I'm enjoying knowing what I know!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:26, Reply)
@ancrenne
Sorry, didn't realise it was raining dahn sarf. It's quite nice here. You could take an umbrella and walk. Or cycle naked, with your clothes and a towel in a waterproof bag, as skin's easier to dry.

Although I dare say you may cause the accident rate to increase if you tried that.

@Herr Doktor - didn't realise you were one of the 'mature' b3tards too!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:28, Reply)
DiT:
It's because of the [CONTENT REMOVED FOR LEGAL REASONS] and they never could get rid of the bloodstains.

@Ancrenne: T'was real indeed, as I was that boy. Names were changed for legal reasons. I miss the giant, talking inverts... They were lovely...

@Herr Doktor: Excellent, I shall look into that... Might have to make a viv myself though, they're a bit pricey.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:29, Reply)
@clendrix
Don't we all wish we'd achieved a bit more. But yeah it is good knowing the stuff that comes with age, still I'd like to be young and have the experience that I have now.

I still wouldn't change anything that's happened in my life, even the bad stuff though.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:31, Reply)
No
I wouldn't change anything because that might mean missing out on some good stuff!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:32, Reply)
@K2k6
That depends on if you mean physically or mentally!

@Kaol At least it doesn't have to be waterproof, that would just make it a bitch to do.

I'm making a unit for my rats and snakes at the moment but all this damn rain is making it real hard to finish as it needs to be done outside for space.

Edit

@Clendrix Hell no, I've had far too many good time to want them to change.
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:37, Reply)
Dr. L
I'm lucky in that I work for a furniture company... I just need to order in laminated chipboard, and do a drawing, then they'll cut and drill it for me.

I'm glad it doesn't have to be waterproof!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:40, Reply)
@ancrenne
Thought so. Nobody seems to agree when I suggest they get naked...

@Herr Dok - Physically, I'm 39 but am fitter than I was fifteen years ago. Mentally, I have the ability of a 39 year old, and the maturity of a 14 year old! I suspect we're all the same in that regard!
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 12:45, Reply)
@Kaol
You lucky bugger, the things I could have made for my menagerie if I had those kind of resources.

@K2k6 Physically I'm 39 as well, mentally I still think I'm in my mid 20's. Maturity wise, 14 sound about right.

(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 13:20, Reply)
@BGB
Kaol's been saying that clendrix and I are old enough to be his parents again. Clendrix suggested we go on a cruise to spend his inheritance, along with the other 'persons of more substantial years' on the board, hence my shout to you.

However, we reckoned we'd only have enough for a rowing boat on the Thames...
(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 13:27, Reply)
I'm not too good on water.

(, Tue 8 Jul 2008, 13:31, Reply)
I've never tried this
but I read somewhere (probably on here) that if you can catch and anaesthetise a bluebottle or wasp, then attach a very fine silk thread to it, the other end of the thread being attached to your desk, you can make a self-powered flying desk ornament.

A tethered wasp sounds like just the thing to provide entertainment for many yearsminutes.

I think we should have an over 35 B3ta bash.
We could all meet up and talk about what it was like in the old days.

We could also have lots of fun without worrying about embarrasing the younger B3ta members.

So yes, I can be a bit thick at times. Especially when it comes to matters involving teh sex. Possibly because of the lack of blood to the brain.

I was going to ask for help on here, but didn't want to risk goatse pictures showing up by mistake :)

Re over 35 bash: Erm... could we lower the minimum age by just one year please? (unless it's in the new year).

Re another London bash: Don't forget the one that will be on either the 22nd or 23rd of July.

@HLT: Any cake left?

EDIT: Greetings ancrenne.

Perhaps you could chew off a piece of your table, and if you don't like it, spit it out so your cats have something to eat.

Aww, poor ancrenne
It started raining just as I left the house to go into town earlier.

And now I must dash out on an errand.

Back soon.

@TWW: Fine thanks: Have been productive today, at the expense of missing out on the fun here.

@MM: My headphone port waits eagerly for a lovely set of headphones.
BTW: Did you see the bit a few posts up about a possible London bash on 22 or 23 July?

Yes I did. I have no plans for that week and live pretty central so I figured I'd sign up when it got put up.

You can put my B&O headphones in your walkman if you like...

@MM:
I’ll let you know when I sort something out. I just wish the companies would decide whether or not I’m going to be interviewed.

Mmm … B&O headphones … I rub the tip of the jack plug round the edges of the socket in eager anticipation. It will be their first chance to reproduce sound from an analogue medium. They’re excited but I’ll build up the anticipation.
