Evening all
Shall we congregate in here tonight?

How are you this evening?

I just found out how to edit Wikipedia. Never tried before :)
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:40, Reply)
I'm not bad
Had a mental day though, and was late for work for the first time ever.

Can't say I have ever edited wiki.

How was your half day vetting?

*brushes off the plaster dust*
evening folks

can I just take a moment to celebrate the crowbar, prince of tools.

*celebrates*

I thank you
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:47, Reply)
Did they make you make the time up when you finished?
If not then yay :)

Was a good day thanks, I had an hour long meeting about what course I want to do and if it will start in September or January and do I pay or will the company pay. So lots of stuff to chase calls up on tomorrow as I want to get going on it. If I have to pay it'll suck a bit, but it's worth it.

And I finally have a diagnosis on what's wrong with my rubbish skin...keratosis pilaris. Basically means that I have spots at the age of 29 which I've known for fucking ages, but it's been a pain in the arse getting a referral to a dermatologist as I kept seeing the locum instead of my regular doctor as he was always on holiday.

Evening all
Remember we were discussing weed wands the other day? Well, I've just watched an article on Reporting Scotland about someone setting fire to his neighbour's garden with one.

Totally burned it out.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:49, Reply)
I was only like 3 minutes late
Which isn't bad seeing as a guy tripped at the bus stop and split his head on the pavement, meaning I waited with him until the ambulance came. So I made up the time by shortening my lunch break slightly. And got finished 15 minutes early because it was quiet, which was nice.

Also, crowbars are amazing. Especially when bought from poundland.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:52, Reply)
Evening lovely people!
I have a lasagne in the oven and life is good.
How are we all?
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:53, Reply)
Yay for finishing early
and for you staying with the guy. At my old job I was bollocked for staying with a cyclist who had most of the skin of his foot taken off when he argued with a lorry. Fuckers.

Mmmm...lasagne :)
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:56, Reply)
Vipros
have you been demolishing lathes and plaster by any chance?

And crowbars FTW
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:58, Reply)
@becky
Can never get enough lasagne;)
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:59, Reply)
you got bollocked for being late for that?
what is wrong with people?

also, mmm lasagne

and cheap crowbars are the business. mine was a present a while ago, but I know for a fact it cost 87p.

also got to do some old fashioned circus strong man type stuff this evening. got a big fat old lead pipe down from the attic and as my gf walked into the room I bent it round into a series of circles :-)

@MM: partly. there's been tile removal, plaster removal straight off the bricks, and some lathe and plaster removal
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 18:59, Reply)
Surely
employers can't object to you helping out a fellow human in time of need? That's just wrong.

And well done on the Wiki editing, Becky. Let's see how long we all stay there!

There was no way I was going to leave the guy, the side of his face was cut open and he was 70 or 80. Would have expected anyone to do it really, but sadly some people wouldn't.

@MM
Ready meals?!

I assure you, this is no such thing:)

@moniker
I made plenty. *hands moniker slab of lasagne*

We've vanished from the Wiki entry already. Becky had listed a whole bunch of us regulars in the QOTW Off Topic section, and it's just a short paragraph now.

I was supposed to be opening up the clinic
we didn't even have any patients, so I figured it'd be fine as the vet would be there at 9am and I got there at 9.15 (should have been 8.30). Then again this is the company that fired me for working a night shift, then a half day, then another night shift and chucked a hissy fit when I refused to work another day shift. All consecutive.

Edit: Shit it's gone. I guess someone complained to wiki. I just said about OT and how nice it is and listed everyone I could think of.

Just went back in my browser and it was this
'''QOTW Off topic'''

QOTW Off topic was invented for those users of QOTW who found they had things in common and liked to talk to each other using the reply system. Over several weeks it became clear that more and more people were preferring to chat to each other through the replies instead of the /talk board which was already set up, so Off topic was created. K2k6, Ancrenne, Kaol, beckyjsbx, Bert Monkeysex, Madam Marlboro, Devil in tights, Althegeordie, Boss Keloid, Clendrix, Rachelswipe, BobfossilHappy little tulip, Wanderlust, Crackhousecedilahband, Enzyme, Chickenlady, Big girls blouse, Davros' Grandad, Tourettes, Mistaspakkaman, Vipros, Penguin of death and Zapiola being the usual suspects found on there

I would be more than happy to judge. Up to the challenge BK? And does anyone else want to participate?! I'm also quite partial to my own, but clearly I would be unfairly biased if I entered my own masterpiece.

That wiki
Is odd.
It's there under the QOTW heading without the list of names, then it's there again with the list in the wrong place, under "I Like This".

*shrugs*

I don't see the point of having names on there, seems a bit egotistical.

EDIT: I'm cooking pork with broad beans, beetroot and mustard mash.

I saw
a van parked on the A1 on Sunday which was advertising British made Biltong and Beef Jerky. Not something you see every day in this country.

Which is just as well, as it's minging, IMO.

Aww Clendrix, I want to meet herr doktor and Che. Make them come to the next bash please :)

Dunno if I'll be out next week, I'm a bit crap at mid-week shenanigans. But maybe. As it is I might have to miss August 8th (?) because of a family do.

Well this isn't until November *pimps birthday bash unashamedly* so we've got time to round up the masses I reckon :) Would be a good idea to book in advance though as it'd be shit to get there and hang around waiting for an empty lane.

Damn his northern living ways.

Edit: 24 hours is good, now we've just got to make it through the rest of our lives without smoking...
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:34, Reply)
If we have time to get a couple of pints in before we start,
I'll stand a chance of bowling above a 50.

Ooh ooh, can we have the bumpers up?
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:38, Reply)
I have a Girls Aloud track on my ipod
*doesn't run away*
*punches self in head instead*

Becky - that's right, we have ages! Let's think about it in September.

There are karaoke rooms at the bowling place...
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:38, Reply)
No
that's cheating.

Well it's bowling with a cool cinema that only shows bowling films - well they did when I was there anyway - karaoke and a diner and dancefloor.

Edit: Aha, I have googled and found it...

It didn't taste very nice, even after just one day.
Thursday in Sheffield for the gig will be the big test.

@clendrix.

I got a turkey last time I bowled
I was fairly proud. Unfortunately it followed sucking for the previous 8 shots, which was a shame.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:41, Reply)
Bloomsbury Bowling Rules.
But I do get hyper competitive at any kind of sport. If we go, I'll try to be good! As in, well-behaved. :)
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:42, Reply)
Bumpers are like
stabilisers on bikes. They're big cushioney things at the sides so the ball cant drop down.

Ahh, but you can't smoke at the gig, so that should help :)

I think I did pretty well last time I played, I was off my face though, so could be wrong
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:43, Reply)
@ Ancrenne
Bumpers are the things that stop you guttering the ball every time.

I get quite competitive too, but it doesn't normally matter as I'm only competing with whoever's second from last.

@BK
I know.
I do like a wide range of music!
But yes. The shame.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:45, Reply)
I have been bowling
numerous times in my life (and played consistently badly), but have yet to get a turkey!

Is this some sort of bowling terminology I have yet to encounter. Or was poultry straying onto the lanes?

Or was it just a raffle prize?
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:46, Reply)
In theory
I'm rubbish at bowling.
But I can throw it pretty hard, so when I hit 'em, lots go down.
I just miss a lot.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:46, Reply)
I got a strike last time I went.
My celebrations were best described as excessive.

One strike, that is. From three games.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:47, Reply)
A turkey is a good thing.
Three strikes in a row, I believe.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:48, Reply)
Hey, K2k6..
Turkey = 3 strikes in a row!

EDIT: As someone else got there, I'll tell you that 6 in a row is called a six pack. Unless that's just on Wii Sports.
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 22:48, Reply)
@becky
This is true - I may be chucking myself around with abandon so that might take my mind off it.
I will be stopping off in my favourite pub The Devonshire Cat beforehand though for a few cheeky Leffe's.

I'm fabulous at wii bowling
less so in real life, but I tend to be from teh A school of bowling and fall over a lot and laugh at myself :)

Bowling
I fluked 150 in Prague against my brother, but can usually get over 100 most times I play.

But that's the fun, I even surprise myself!

Right, for the second time tonight, I'm leaving. It's time to travel to Bed, to dream fitful dreams, and to prepare for another day in London tomorrow.

Godnight, farvel, see ya!

I would have tried for more
But it was my last three shots in the game, so I couldn't find out unfortunately. It did mean that the boys bet the girls though.

I love pool.
I'm no better at it than I am at bowling, but I only get beaten by one person at a time :)
(, Tue 15 Jul 2008, 23:05, Reply)
Last time I played my opponent put his genitals in the pocket I was aiming for.
I was not distracted, as he seemed quite cold.
