It depends reallyI'd rather have a present I want than have my family waste money on something I don't (especially since I'm the only wage earner) and if it's expensive and a luxury, it's harder to justify buying it for myself. So I've had a couple of presents where I've ordered them myself and just been given them afterwards and it's worked out well.
On the other hand, if she just hijacked it after you ordered it, you're well shot of her.

Yeah, see where you are coming from..And me and new Mrs Mudbutton are gonna go shopping together to get each other something...She's much better than the old model!
