This is a question Social Networking Gaffes

Freddy Woo writes, "My school bully just friended me on Facebook!" No doubt he pokes him, and then demands his lunch money.

Personally, last month a scantily clad young woman confused me with her fiance, with whom I share a first and last name. I'm still not sure she's noticed, but she's going to be mortified when she does.

What's the biggest mistake you've made using a social networking site?

ladies!
Nothing wrong with saying "I only want to meet tall men" (or "well-muscled", "black", etc)

Nothing wrong with saying "why are all men on this site so shallow?"

It's the combination that says 'horrible, horrible relationship ahead.'

(note: men might do this as well, I don't know).

this is true...
then again, it's not just on the web that such things occur. Witness the fact that we can have a Diet Coke advert where a bunch of slavering women ogle a fit guy with no top on and it's fine, but if you were to put a bunch of office numptys in their place and replace the fit bloke with a bikini model, the hairy-armipt brigade would be out with pitchforks and flaming torches decrying the blatant objecification of women. When was the last time you saw an advert where the man wasn't the "idiot" being humoured, educated or mocked by the womenfolk? Misogynism works both ways, I feel...

No I dont think it does.
From my sketchy reading of feminism, black rights, gay rights, the holocaust etc, it's my understanding that as a middle class white man, everything is my fault.

And yet, somehow, I wouldnt change a thing :)

Chad
whilst in my opinion you are 100% correct in sentiment, misogyny, the hatred of women, doesn't actually work both ways.

You are thinking of misandry, hatred of men.

That wouldn't work both ways either.
Misanthropy would though.

particularly the flat chested ones.

Guys!
Does anybody agree with articles stating that we are potrayed as toothless morons by the modern media? I'm not too sure about it.
If there were however I'd like to see all the adverts in the 50s showing women to be toothless morons, that would be worth a giggle.
