This is a question Amazing displays of ignorance

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

My GF last night came up with a good one
I have a Hamster - aptly named 'Hammy'

We were putting food in its cage but Hammy couldnt find it, I told her he probably couldnt see it, they have poor eyesight because they are nocturnal.

"Shall we turn the lights off then?"

I gave her a minute to realise what she had said...

but, you see, hamsters have very good sense of smell
so you are either feeding it polystyrene, or you're just as ignorant for even thinking that your hamster is trying to find it's food through sight in the first place.

you're made for each other. You should get married and have spack-babies.

He'd Pulled a piece of food through his cage
and had flipped it behind his back, he was in the process of sniffing about, but it wasnt close enough.

so he was looking the wrong way?
so, again, unless his eyes were in his arse - his poor eyesight still isn't a factor.

also...
rodents such as this can smell food miles away (exaggeration)... just how big is this cage?

hahah, seriously
I cant believe your being so anal about my hamster's actions. He didnt see the food. End of. The point of my post was that by turning the light off - wouldnt make any difference to if he could SEE or not see. As in, my hamster cannot see in the dark, any better than he can see in light.

But your right, I was talking about his sense of smell... because that was the point of the post wasn't it, you could tell that by how I said he couldnt 'see' the food.....

do you have spack babies by any chance.

seriously.

PPS it was a piece of carrot (which he bl00dy loves btw), and he found it after about 5 or so mins of 'sniffing about'.
