It is indeed...The letter has got the Hogwarts crest and seal on it, but I was struggling to find any way of getting it legible with the size of the owl source pics that were available, so it's more of a pattern recognition thing.
...but the letters appear in the first half hour of the first film, so even if you've not seen one all the way through you should still recognise them!! Popular culture fail.
