but have read the short, and even for King it's lacking in depth, believable characters and a decent plot. I can't imagine the film adds all of those things. Doesn't it have a Wahlberg?

But if you stick with it you'll be almost in tears at the brutal despairing ending. It's quite a remarkable film go watch it honestly.
