This reminds me very much of a film called Real Steelwhich, from what I've seen, is basically Rock'em Sock'em Robots, the Movie.

It's had mixed reviews... then again, nobody was expecting a masterpiece. XDHaven't heard of Robot Jox, I'll have to look it up.
