do it regularly mateOk, I do it by accident when plugging in a dodgy old machine that I should really check over first, but the webserver has come back up every time.....

On a debian box I use occasionally, everytime I unplug it / there's a powercutPoof. It won't boot. Obviously tried fsck, etc. Maybe just the harddrive's knackered :)

could be,I'm using ext2fs on redhat 7.1....stable as a thing full of horses that isn't a horsebox.
