# I don't care
it doesn't matter anyways.

I am happy I have escaped my family for the night

# Congrats.
Did you have a good christmas?
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:28, archived)
# I don't celebrate it
I did have a mostly good day, except when I was at my parents'

and I suppose, objectively, having a bad 5 hours is better than having to go to work for 8, if you have a bad job

# Why not?
Are you one of those different religions, like Jewishness or Buddhistness? It's okay if you are, you know. Hee hee

# I don't have a religion
not even atheism.

I am non-religious, because it seems like a waste of time to me

# Christmas isn't about religion anyway,
It's about love, family, and most of all, running around like a madman trying to buy christmas presents for aunts and uncles you don't even LIKE.

You're right. It's a waste of time.

# wot about jellybeans and funny hats
or is that something else i'm thinking of?
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:37, archived)
# I don't see why you should worry about the time of year for the first two
and the presents are just materialism
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:38, archived)
# I LIKE materialism
It keeps a shirt on my back.
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:41, archived)
# you need a shirt
there are lots of things you don't need that you probably have

and me too

just seems silly to have a season for it when people are greedy all the time
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:43, archived)
# EVERY day is all about materialism
At least at Christmas, our greed has a theme.
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:45, archived)
# I guess
I'd prefer to just admit to it and go ahead rather than trying to pretend it's about something else. That's what bothers me about it so much, I think. It's pretending to be something it isn't, and I'm forced into it. There's no way to avoid it without locking myself away from people completely
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:47, archived)
# I know what you mean.
And just when Christmas is over, you gotta start with Valentines day, which is a REAL lie.
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:51, archived)
# that one I can avoid at least
but it's no more false than christmas
(, Fri 26 Dec 2003, 3:52, archived)
# seems ok to celebrate it I guess
I wish it wasn't shoved down my throat wherever I go

it's over though! yay for it being finished and done with and not coming back for another year
