# my only evidence
would be anecdotal. [EDIT:but not personal before you all start thinking I'm crazy!]

But from that; it makes things worse in the long run.

Instead of dealing with the past; it makes people forget it; but they'll still remember that they forgot; if you see what I mean. Thats why it never solves the problem...

# if it was personal experience
you would be cured!

I was reading a report last week that advocated using it as maintenance therapy for manic-depression (it's my job), and apparently the weight of evidence is that it works. My own (2nd hand) anecdotal evidence is similar to yours.

# Well i'm no pro...
In fact I'm training to be an accountant!

But, uniquely in my [close] family, I have one person who works in the giving of it; and another who's recieved.

Having seen both sides of the coin like that; it makes me very sceptical about procedures like that; and even more so about doctors giving out vallium like sweets to anyone going through a rough phase.

I think that is what starts people on the road to trouble. My personal view point is that doctors should be using more drug free ways of helping people with mild depression; and that would hopefully stop people becoming more and more dependant on more and more bizzare medical practises.

Eg I saw somewhere that someone has proved that vigourus exercise can help mild depression; much better i say!
