# if you're using photoshop
select your layer, and then either use the brush tool (set to clear) to smooth the edges as much as you like, or create a mask for the layer and do pretty much the same thing (with a normal brush).

# I use fireworks as well
Use the feather marquee option, or just make sure the feathering is very high on the eraser tool.

Do you ever try masking areas? I like it because you can re-edit to your heart's content. It does take more time than any of the selection tools, though.

# Mogwaister?
When you put pictures from b3ta on your own page, could you take the trouble to credit the person who made them, or even just give a link to b3ta?

It's the nice thing to do and I think anyone here would do the same. We're such a warm and fuzzy community.

# for the
ones that are currently on there, is a www.b3ta.com tag on the photo ok? I can't remember who made half of them...

# You can do a rough lassoo/clipping mask and
then go round the hair/fur/whatever with an eraser set at 50% opacity or something, or you could just use feathering.

The thing is, the whole diffusion effect with fur is impossible to cut out; you have to re-create the effect with the available tools.

# feathering is the big secret to better photoshopping...
...and erasers are far more useful than paint brushes.
