# my walls are bendy
I don't think there's a single right angle in my house.

and far be it from me to break with the tradition.

# Have you dared to
remove anything from that bottom row yet?

DaSchop stole the pic from the ginger fuhrer.

(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 14:06, archived)
# Holy crap!
Is it just PVA holding that together?
Are you going to fingerpaint it?
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:34, archived)
# nails and screws mostly
but a bit of PVA went in there somewhere just in case.

# I like the shoddy slapdash
peice of wiring behind the shelves.

This place is a health and safety nightmare.

I like it.
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:34, archived)
# our walls don't have cavities,
so we have that all over the house.

I guess that's what you get when a house is built before the invention of electric wires, water pipes etc.
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:41, archived)
# its still incredibly unsafe
and possibly illegal
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:54, archived)
# oh well.
it's not really as bad as it looks.

Some bits are though.

and it does look a little dodgy
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:35, archived)
# it's surprisingly solid
for some reason.

# ooh betty,
look at my lovely shelves.

CRASH!
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:48, archived)
# That is quite possibly the worst shelving I have ever seen
However, that alone makes it brilliant.
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:36, archived)
# thank you
I'm glad you appreciate my genius.
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:45, archived)
# haha
they'll never last. 100% fact
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:40, archived)
# but they didn't cost anything at all,
and they might stay up until I get better at DIY....

'course they might not.
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:44, archived)
# nah, according to the laws of sod
they'll stay up right through the whole painting proccess, they'll be fine when you stack them too, but just as you sit down to admire your handiwork and congratulate yourself on a job well bodged, they'll come crashing down and possibly horribly injure you.

1000%fact
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:50, archived)
# if that happens
(and I survive)

I shall post pictures, and put it down to experience.

They're pretty solid really though. Generous use of screws and nails has ensured it isn't going to fall down too soon...
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 14:08, archived)
# Hahaha
You're not going to be putting anything delicate/expensive on it are you?
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 13:48, archived)
# yes of course
where would be the fun in building shelves like that and not putting expensive and valuable items on them. they shall contain, amongdt other things a 1750 edition of "the imitation of Christ"
(, Tue 31 Jan 2006, 14:12, archived)
# Hahaha
My shelf contains and 0000 copy of the bible.

In scripture.

And some frankensense.

fortunatly for mrs thor i seem to be able to turn my hand to anything, plumbing, plastering, woodwork, etc... i just take a little longer then a paid professional.
