# Back to your old standards again.
Very good.

# As much as I'm as cynical as the rest
I'm kinda sick of this whole BLIARLOLOLOL thing. Surely there are better things to moan about... well by that I mean surely there's little more to be said on the subject?
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:20, archived)
# depends whether you're bothered about democracy,
freedom of speech, about your son coming home minus a wooden overcoat or even just a message board populated by a broad range of topics, serious or fluffy...
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:29, archived)
# Yeah, clearly wanting talk about something else means I don't care
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:31, archived)
# Then dont....talk....about....it....
It's quite easy to avoid a conversation on an internet messageboard.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:34, archived)
# If you want to talk about something else do so,
there are 19 other threads on here, and two other boards on the site, not to mention the entire rest of the internets. Just ignore the stuff you don't like.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:34, archived)
# why not talk about this and other things?
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:34, archived)
# or go to
www.srcf.ucam.org/erics/phpBB2/

when the b3ta board isn't to acquired tastes.

# I'm often confused with the freedom of speech issue
and always wonder whatever gave people the impression that the UK has ever had a freedom of speech rule. There is no free speech here, only in America and parts of Western Europe. Never has been free speech in the UK.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:36, archived)
# Hmm. America certainly
but I'm less sure about Western Europe. While we don't have free speech formalised in our constitution I feel we are a more open society than say France or Germany ( I have worked in both.)
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:41, archived)
# Yeah I should
have said Scandinavia rather than Western Europe.
We don't have free speech simply because the government has judicial control of the press which negates the term free speech.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:52, archived)
# That's an odd thing to say.
Perhaps you mean that the legal right to freedom of speech has been formalized in the US but not the UK? Because although the UK has no constitution as such, there are laws which enshrine the right to freedom of expression.
Or perhaps you mean that one may truly speak freely in the US without fear of being silenced? If so, I'm afraid you're utterly mistaken.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:54, archived)
# I mean that America has
a constitution that allows for freedom of speech ( as for it's actual validity that is something else ) whereas the UK operates a legal system tat actually allows for gagging of speech and has never had true free speech, it's a myth perpetuated by people that are confused.

# before I go elsewhere,
I have a copy of Nero 6 (which I just use for CDs, but which does have DVD plugins - are you saying I can easily do it with this?
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:56, archived)
# yes.
open startsmart and choose make new DVD or something like that then Nero Express will open. Add your video ( which won't fit ans you will be on DVD 5 ) then edit the title and change the sliders to remove what you don't need. I think. I'm still sure easy video splitter is your answer. Give me a mail address and I'll send it to you ( full version 1.7mb)

(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:42, archived)
# But if you're really gonna hold the fact a politician is relgious against them
that measn you'd kinda be saying you have to be aethiest, or that other one that says they dont know.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:46, archived)
# Don`t get me wrong...
...*everyone* is entitled to their own personal beliefs.

What you can`t do is expect to be judged solely by the big spaghetti monster, and not by those you are beholden to represent.

just that god would judge him.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 20:12, archived)
# but he didn't say that, did he?
in the clip I saw he said something like "you're judged by the people and, if you believe in god, by god as well" or something.
(, Sat 4 Mar 2006, 19:54, archived)
