slight tj: you can't have a domain that follows this form, right: www.exampledomain.com/somethingelse.com ? or am I being daft?

domains contain at least one dot (.) and exactly zero slashes (/) and must end with an approved TLD (.com, .org, .net, .int, .info, .biz, .uk, .cx, .us, .de etc)

by registering the domain example.com and at the website www.example.com including in it a directory called somethingelse.com
Then you will have a website at http://www.example.com/somethingelse.com/
