I've always thought Marilyn's incarnations on the album Mechanical Albums
was the closest he ever got to just yelling 'I wanna be Bowie!!'

Tho the music yells 'I wanna be Orgy' but that's another story...

Someone I used to work with heard some in my car once and thought it was Bowie.
