Spit Happens!Yes, most newer horns have very small spit valves, but they are not near the large end of the horn.
Upright tubas are often called raincatchers.
(BTW, I still have a few "Spit Happens" tuba bumper stickers I made about 20 years ago, but the glue does not work very well.)
