yeah
i know it's supposed to be about depression, isolation, boredom. whatever.
why would i want to listen to something that gives me Nothing?
that's probably why i listen to emo (and before you jump at me i'm talkin the good shizz) cause i want Passion.
the problem with emo isnt the style itself, it's just that it taps into something that so many teenagers can relate to that they all jump on the bandwagon and produce absolute wank and everyone laps it up.
i.e. Simple Plan.

when i was younger and in my gothy grunger days
i ued to like bands like jimmy eat world who were called emo at the time and i liked it enough and an old friend of mine was emo way back and he was lovely and such and a complete non wanker...but it's just all that teenage bollocks now. it made me hate nu metal, goth, even punk a bit..twatty teenages can ruin things way too easily.

to be honest
it happens with just about everything.
because just cause someone's an absolute tool, whatever it is they're trying to express is still going to fit into the same category.
(edit^ woops. not you personally. ha.)
the skill is just having the self-confidence to know that you listen to whatever because You like it. i mean... fuck. i still like avril lavigne.
