seemed like a nice, normal, mumsy-type person, but her chatting about "While running alone through the siberian forests it was quite beautiful with the shapes of the wolves following alongside the track. It got to 62 degrees below on some nights, which made it tricky to melt my drinking water."

She was knocked unconscious in a river crossing, ran 32 miles of the siberian stretch with a fractured leg, and actually finished the thing walking on crutches because she broke some ribs in a fall on ice, but despite broken ribs and crutches she was still towing a trailer with her stuff on.

I'm pissed off at the news as some chaps are going to Antarctica and want another person to go with, but only if they're related to someone from the original Shackleton party.

Cunts. My most favourite place in the world, probably the only shot I ever have of walking it's surface, tasting it's air (save an Antarctic cruise which we may be having for the honeymoon) and they won't fucking let me.
