I think you did best by leaving her out.
The subtlety would be lost having the barman as a purple robed dreadlocked black woman with a big, crazy hat.
By the way - am i sad for listening the streets of rage soundtrack and fucking loving it right now?
SOR and SOR2 played a big part in musical upbringing - they got me into art of noise, then 808 state, then prodigy and so forth...

Beats of rage?
Its poooooo! Just re-used sprites from SNK games. Not a patch on SOR2. I just fricking love it - best 16 bit game ever. I didnt like the 3rd one, and the 1st one wasnt as good, but there was summat just right about the 2nd one.

You're spot on!
The soundtracks on the 1st 2 were amazing. The voices of the main characters on SOR 2 always made me laugh with how crackly and prone to being misheard they were though....

I love Video game sound tracks
i have 'Commodore Rock' on my iPod. There are some great bands out there like Dubmood, YM Rockers, Press Play on Tape, 50Hz, Sinclair SPectrum Orchestra and so on that release modern Chip Tunes as records :)
