# I'm glad she wrote her column.
Sometimes something wrong is needed, in order to make people realise that a correction in our attitudes has happened over a length of time.

All of a sudden we're all realising that homophobia isn't something we're happy with.

# I have to check the Daily Mail every day
To make sure I don't have to put out statements to calm members of the general public who phone my company in a state of panic.

I agree that it takes something like her article, vile offensive rant to remind me that this paper tawdry hate filled rag isn't as reasonable as it pretends to be. It does lull you into a false sense of security mind you, combining stories that are designed to get even sad old lefties like me indignant, with truely offensive crap that then just washes over you un-noticed.

# shame it's the case, but you're right
and the outpouring of bile in her direction yesterday was heartwarming. Personally I hope the fail don't retract her column, if they do that then in future they can deny its existence far too easily. I think a couple of days in the stocks for her is the best thing, if she loses her job someone else, even more vile (Kelvin McKenzie maybe) will just take over, and she'd end up working somewhere else pretending none of it had happened
