Totally agree.
I made that mistake with arma3. It was so bad I stopped playing. I played it again recently and it's much better but I can't help feeling disappointed with it. Having said all that, I'm 43, Elite was a massive part of my childhood so I just spent £70 on this *knowing* that now we have the technology to justify the game. I'll try not to play it during the beta and I'll fail, just hope that doesn't ruin a lifetime of happy gaming memories.

Its worth getting the beta just for the flight practise
The way they created the flight physics leads to some intense dog fights.
Even when released it wont be the finished game i suspect.
Also the mouse controls are well iffy.
Recommend a hotas setup
