there are believable all cg sequences out there though, just can't remember or find any good examples to back that up :D

Yeah I believe there is.
I can kind of see the point though. It's the ones that shiny it up too much. The real world is fucking shit and boring so to make it realistic, generally that's what your backdrop has to be.

Also the weighting is a problem
CGI action still gets the weighting wrong so much, so people and objects are being thrown through the air, but they fly like toys. Nothing ever feels real if the weight's wrong.
