i've got a whole series planned out:
Man is electronics genius, but a bit of a munter.... Like an autistic socially awkward, and poor, tony stark... Not your typical sitcom loser... He thinks he's doing all right, and he is a genius... But like all geniuses... He's also a massive retard!
He has a dog, his only friend... He loves the dog.
The dog starts getting ill, but everytime he gets taken to the vets they cant find whats wrong...
But dog is obviously in pain... So our guy decides to invent a voice box so that he can ask the dog simple yes or no quesions, to find out whats wrong with him...
He does this, turns it on, only to find that the dog has been faking injury to manipulate his owner into building him a communication device... And hes not fond of his owner
Now that he can talk he has big plans... He resents his owner/lodger as a failure and realises that with his brains the dog could take over the world... Obviously the owner has 2nd thoughts, but the dog soon starts sorting things out for him, getting him some money, and some female interest and so our guy realises that having a talking dog is working in his favour, even if the dog is a meglomaniac!
So yeah, its little shop of horrors... Meets rainman, via any which way but loose...But aint nothing wrong with that!

Don't make Paul too successful, that's the only thing I'd say.
I take it Paul and Keith are gradually going to realize that they both have a symbiotic need for each other...even though Keith utterly despises Paul?
