This is a normal post Simply not true.
To be honest Im tired of having to explain what the policy actually means, not in terms of the well off going to university, but lower income families. More important is in terms of our higher education sector as a driving force of our economy. We represent 1% of the world population yet contribute 8% of research. Take a look at the policy, take a look at the Lecturer's union website as well as the NUS to see what this policy means. Don't just take the frankly shambolic media coverage of this issue at face value. "Your reading the headlines" Give me a break...

This is a normal post Students from lower income families won't be affected
And frankly the NUS can fuckoff, bunch of left-wing useless ignorant idiots.

This is a normal post Really?
So the decision to scrap the education maintenance allowance which allows poorer students to access further education without being a burden on their families won't effect them at all?

Less people from poorer backgrounds getting into FE means less of them eligible for higher education...
