She's rotating counter clockwise (her left leading) and going up and down at the same time with a slight angle tilt on the 3d model.
Reading the bit at the bottom I don't see how it could be going clockwise.

If you look at the shadow at the bottom it sometimes helps to flip this 8 year old image around.

ahhhhhhhhh, I think I see what people are talking about but it's not exactly an optical illusion
it's just about perspective/camera positioning.
The bad angling of the 3d model causes her foot to lift off the ground giving you a minor forced lower angle of the animation. So what you can see if you stare at the feet is like looking at her from under a glass surface (you pervert) and therefore a reverse motion of what she is doing.
Looking at her upper body clearly (in my mind) shows the direction.
if it wasn't a silhouette it would fall apart horribly.
