This is a normal post I Think.....
If I had the choice of a baseball bat or a cricket bat, in a fight, I'd choose the cricket bat.

One - because I'm British - but -
two - because it;s a superior weapon.

A baseball bat relies on it's power by hitting at the very end of the bat. Move in close and it's as much use as a wet lettuce. Also, it only has one striking feature - a bat can be used using the flat surface or, by a twist of the wrist, the edge.

I think a full swing with a baseball bat against a guy who defends with the edge would be a broken baseball bat. Game over

cheers

This is a normal post I think what would actually happen would be
the 'blade' of the bat coming away from the handle. It pains me to say it as a baseball bat is one solid lump rather than two glued together, I'd go for the septic weapon.

This is a normal post I disagree that a baseball bat is useless in close-hand combat.
It's the perfect length and shape to hold in both hands as a jabbing object, or to hit people with the butt of the handle.

That said, a cricket bat would still be my weapon of choice. They're heavy and could also be used as a small shield/buckler to defend.

It's either that or a 6ft Scottish claymore...

This is a normal post No style in either
If the shit hits the fan, I'd grab a electric guitar.

Plenty of clout and you can pretend you're Keith Richards while you're at it.

This is a normal post While watching the news the other night...
I looked around the front room to see what I could use to defend my family.

My ESP Strat copy was the only thing with enough weight IMO. Not sure it'd hold a tune afterwards though.

This is a normal post You can nail a brick to a cricket bat
That decides it for me.

This is a normal post Why the limitation to baseball or cricket?
As a brit you have quite an extensive armoury at your disposal. Croquet mallets, swingball bats and punting poles are all excellent choices for home defence.
