doubly annoying is half the time if you pick up a bargain at dixons or game, stream still insists on trying to download it.
Or in the case of BF3 (not steam I know) we had a disk which installed 9GB. Then over next 2 months we had 11Gig of 'patches'

That thing has downloaded so many HUGE patches I've almost given up playing it for fear it'll need to download another 2 Gig on launch.

i think at the moment BF3's taking up just under 23GB on my hard drive then it'll go up again in a couple of weeks for the Aftermath content.
do you play it on PC?

Team Fortress 2 currently sitting in a 17 gig pile of it's own making on my hard drive. Fuck knows how much space BF3 is hogging on my PC.
I can't stand Origin, it's like a mirror universe Steam.

it's like the equivalent of those fake chinese wiis but for game management systems.
for ages I was getting huge slowdown and sluggish movements for no apparent reason. It all stopped when I started closing down firefox and origin when I log into a server. sometimes origin would magically go into "offline" mode mid game creating 1/2 GB of unusable RAM , meanwhile firefox is eating up over 400MB as well and neither are necessary whilst BF3 is running

The Game shut down and the Gamestation remained open, but has since been renamed/rebranded as a Game. The staff in their go on about how pissed off they are about working for Game now, because Gamestation was always the 'cooler' company to work for.
I pointed out that at least they still had a fucking job, unlike those at the 'old' Game around the corner. They did a collective 'oh yeah', before talking about the old black gamestation membership cards being better than the crappy purple and silver game ones.
Arseholes one and all.

I left just after the Game buy out. Knew exactly what was going to happen. My local Gamestation(re-brand aside) is still there, and I know exactly where you're coming from.
