He's not funny
For me, the argument about a comedian's merits stops right there. People seem to think that because he slags off a variety of amazingly easy targets he's some sort of comic messiah.

I'm a fan of his.
Have seen him live and very briefly met him and had a chat when he toured last. It was at this point that I realised, "Aha" its a bit of an act. I'm not saying he isn't slightly like that, in the same way Steve Coogan is probably slightly like Alan Partridge in some ways. But a lovely bloke, quietly spoken, just doing a job.
