This is a normal post Careful, my new bff.
That sounds dangerously close to the liberal racist "we should respect brown people's moral stance" argument for not interfering on female genital mutilation, honour killings &c.
I think we should all starting thinking as denizens of this planet, rather than individual countries.... There are universal moral wrongs & turning a blind eye, so as not to offend 'different' cultural morals is patently wrong.

This is a normal post I'ld argue that mutilating women is more of a universal moral wrong that what level or weapon a citizen is allowed for self defense.

Pakistan also has liberal gun laws and has had it's share of mass killings which barely gets a mention.
In the past weeks they've had aid workers murdered which didn't get people jumping up and being keyboard warriors.

I am unaware of Sam Harris (though his book on lying rings a bell), which book should I start on?

This is a normal post I've no idea I've never read any,
I read an online article by him some time ago so I know what his stance is on this, to be honest I wasn't impressed by his argument, and some quotes of his books elsewhere really put me off. He's one of these "all religion should be abolished" types.
