Slightly off topic, but...
I had my camera stolen in Berlin last July (worth 2k). The police took a report saying it would be, obviously, very unlikley I'd get it back. To cut a tl;dr story short, my company managed to track the my colleagues laptop (also stolen) to an address in Germany and the cops busted the house. My camera arrived via courier today, in perfect nick. Big up the Polizei.

Nice one
For future reference though, how was it stolen? Just because mine's a bit pricey and I'm fucking paranoid about this sort of thing.

I was filming at a private music event in a fancy club...
At the end of the night, when nearly everyone had left, I went to the van to get all the flight boxes and when I got back my camera had disappeared. It's very rare that I leave anything unattended, but I had a false sense of security. They must have just grabbed the tripod and sauntered out. My specialist insurance refused to pay up because there was no forced entry. Furthermore, the twats refused to cancel my (expensive) policy even though I no longer had any equipment. On the plus side my company helped out by paying me overtime to cover it, plus I have my camera back now.
