Leonardo DiCaprio - King of Method Acting
NSFW
While filming the tense dinner table scene in Django Unchained, Leonardo DiCaprio broke a glass and cut his hand. Despite bleeding shooting continued, the take ultimately being incorporated in the final film. Here now is the original coverage of the incident.

He's not that good, or he would have actually died in Titanic.

I was quite impressed when I heard it
But then I also realised that he smeared his actual blood on the face of the actress in the scene (forget her name)...which is a bit fucking weird. Very Artaudian, but he was a bit fucking weird as well.

Good film, loved him in it too.
Joaquin Phoenix puts him to shame in The Master though, he kicked the shit out of himself in that film, also smashed up a toilet (which wasn't in the script) which he got in quite a bit of trouble over.

Not half as good as Gavin Rossdale in that one Burn Notice episode.

None can compare to Brandon Lee
Although getting shot while filming your last scene isn't an very enduring party trick.

It's worth seeing just for his performance, it's a masterclass.
Couldn't take my eyes off him.

The King?
Hmmm.
Heath Ledger actually went nuts.
Daniel Day Lewis cooked his own dinners and killed everything he hate on LoTM and did some crazy cool things in my left foot. Went mad in Abe I hear too.
But the kings are surely Robert de Niro (in Raging Bull) and Marlon Brando (in everything he did).

Love the story of DDL in My Left Foot when they were trying to renegotiate his contract and he wouldn't come out of character:
"Daniel!!! You're going to lose loads of money!!!"
"Mngngnghhhhh....."
"Are you listening to me!?!"
"Mmmmnnghghghhhh...."

Did you see him on Breakfast telly?

He is a great actor but god he talks about his 'art' like a wank filled donut.

Fair enough I say
There are few enough people who give a fuck about what they do and to get somebody who actually does what they do well and takes pride in it, I think is a positive. Especially in his industry, where wank filled doughnuts are rife; at least he fills his own (if not spelling it correctly)

I don't mind it don't get me wrong
he just fulfills all the criteria for 'wank filled donut' as far as I know. Doesn't stop me laughing at the acty wank he spews though. With all due respect.

meh, I appreciate good acting, but actors in general have a tendency to see their profession as somehow more elevated, noble and important than most when in reality most actors work on commercially-driven rather than artistically-driven projects almost all of the time.
TLDR: AaC.
