This is a link post Animation from the USSR
Kids TV animation from the Soviet Union from 1969. This is (what I can gather) the first episode and, in my opinion, has that Oliver Postgate charm and the wackiness of Magic Roundabout.
It features an odd furry creature with large ears and a crocodile that dresses like Sid James from Bless this House.

I recommend this episode too based solely on the soundtrack alone.

The little dude with the ears is called Cheburashka, and his friend is called Gena the Crocodile. They are utterly fantastic, and massively popular in Russia. In fact, Cheburashka was the olympic mascot for the Russian team at Beijing 2008.
